Commissionerate Police issues traffic advisory for budget session in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has issued a traffic advisory for the upcoming budget session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA), which is slated to be held in two phases from February 13.

The first phase of the assembly session will be held from February 13 to February 21 while the second phase from March 7 to April 5, 2025. In view of this, the following Traffic Regulations are ordered U/s 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003 (Odisha Act 8 of 2007) and in pursuance to Regulation 36 of Bhubaneswar Cuttack, Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulation 2008, to regulate traffic in the vicinity of State Assembly and are issued in view of security concern.

Vehicles coming from Housing Board Square will take diversion from Keshari talkies square taking a left turn.
Vehicles coming from AG Square towards PMG will take diversion by turning right from Jaydev Bhawan and proceed on Indira Gandhi Park road.
All vehicles coming from Master Canteen side towards P.M.G. will be diverted near adjoining lanes at Lower PMG.
Vehicles coming from 120 Infantry Battalion square will not be allowed to proceed towards Rabindra Mandap. They will be diverted towards Power House Square.
Vehicles coming from Raj Bhawan Square towards MLA colony and Rabindra Mandap will be diverted towards Sastrinagar Square.
These above mentioned restriction will not applicable for the emergency vehicles (Police, Fire and Ambulance) and the vehicles authorised to enter the official Buildings including the State Assembly, the State Secretariat and other offices located in this area.

These restrictions will be implemented on all the above mentioned days, when the Assembly is in session.

It is to be noted here that the Odisha budget session 2025 will begin from February 13 with Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati’s address and will continue till April 5. This will be followed with Motion of Thanks on Governor’s Address.

As per the schedule, the Odisha budget session 2025 will be held in two phases with a total of 28 working days. While the first phase will be held between February 13 and February 21, the second phase session will begin from March 7 with the Presentation of Reports of the Departmentally Related Standing Committees and will continue till April 5.

Discussion on the Governor’s Address will be held for two days that is on February 14-15 (Friday-Saturday) while Odisha CM Mohan Majhi, who also heads the Finance Department, will present the State budget 2025-26 on February 17 (Monday).
