CM Yogi’s visit to Chitrakoot, review of religious places and development works

Chitrakoot: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Chitrakoot, the holy land of Lord Rama, on Thursday as part of his two-day visit to Bundelkhand. Upon arriving, the Chief Minister first visited the Kamadgiri mountain, a place of mythological and religious significance, to pay obeisance to Lord Kamatnath. He performed a ritualistic worship and prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the state.

Tight security arrangements were in place for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s arrival in Chitrakoot. After paying obeisance at the Kamadgiri mountain temple complex in Khohi, CM Yogi completed the approximately 5-kilometer-long sacred circumambulation, accompanied by administrative officials and security personnel.

On the circumambulation route, the Chief Minister accepted the greetings of devotees and locals with folded hands amid the singing of hymns dedicated to Lord Rama. A large number of devotees welcomed the Chief Minister. CM Yogi also greeted the people and conveyed the message of maintaining the dignity and order of the religious site.

Meeting with Saints and Mahants

After completing the circumambulation of Kamadgiri mountain, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with prominent saints and Mahants of Chitrakoot. During this, he discussed the religious, cultural, and spiritual heritage of Chitrakoot.

The Chief Minister assured the saint community that the state government is continuously working to develop Chitrakoot as a major center for religious tourism. He stated that efforts are being made to establish Chitrakoot’s identity not only nationally but also globally.

CM Yogi directed officials to pay special attention to the facilities for pilgrims on the Kamadgiri Parikrama route. He stated that drinking water, shade, cleanliness, and security arrangements for pilgrims should be maintained at all times.

He also directed to ensure regular cleaning of the Parikrama area and surrounding ghats under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The Chief Minister stated that maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of religious sites is a priority for the government.

Participated in the Aarti of the Mandakini River

During his stay in Chitrakoot, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also participated in the grand Aarti held at Ramghat on the sacred Mandakini River. He performed the Aarti of Mother Mandakini with due rituals and participated in religious traditions.

A large number of devotees were present during the Aarti ceremony held at Ramghat. The Chief Minister paid homage to the spiritual tradition and religious significance of Chitrakoot on this occasion.

Review of Development Projects

Along with the religious programs, the Chief Minister also reviewed various ongoing development projects in the Bundelkhand and Chitrakoot regions. He held a high-level meeting with officials to gain insight into the ongoing development work in the region.

The meeting discussed the progress of the ‘Har Ghar Nal Yojana’, link roads connected to the Bundelkhand Expressway, tourism development plans, and other important projects. The Chief Minister directed officials to complete all projects within the timeframe.

CM Yogi said that the Bundelkhand region has immense potential for development and the government is promoting tourism along with expanding infrastructure.

This visit of the Chief Minister is being seen as an effort to give a new direction to the development and tourism of Bundelkhand, both in terms of religious faith and inclusiveness. The government is continuously working on plans to strengthen the religious identity of Chitrakoot and provide better facilities to the devotees.
