Raipur. Objections to the new land guideline rates have been raised in most districts of the state. It was reported that the highest number of objections came from four districts: Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, and Rajnandgaon. The proposal to revise the guideline rates will be discussed in the cabinet on Wednesday. The government has increased land guideline rates after seven years. In many places, the guideline rates increased by up to 1,000 percent. This was met with widespread opposition, and some amendments were made. Objections to the rates were also invited.

According to sources, objections to the guideline rates have been raised in most districts of the state. The highest number of objections were received in Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, and Rajnandgaon districts. Ambikapur, Jashpur, Raigarh, and Korba also received objections to the guideline rates.

The objections stated that the guideline rates were higher than the actual land price. The increase in guideline rates had impacted land trade. MP Brijmohan Agrawal and several MLAs have expressed their disagreement with the guideline rates. Brijmohan Agrawal has even written a letter directly to Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, requesting the immediate suspension of the new guideline rates. Departmental sources told Chhattisgarh that the cabinet will discuss the revision proposal on Wednesday. Meanwhile, land traders are preparing to approach the High Court against the new guideline rates. In this regard, the traders have already discussed the new guideline rates with Rajya Sabha member and Supreme Court lawyer Vivek Tankha. The rules related to the guideline rates are being examined.
