CM Revanth: Shops, restaurants in Hyderabad to remain open till 1 am
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday announced that all restaurants, hotels and other commercial establishments, except liquor shops and bars, will be allowed to remain open and operational till 1 am in Hyderabad. He said necessary instructions will be issued to the three police commissionerates in this regard. Responding to a brief discussion on “Activities for Sustainable Urban Development in Hyderabad Metro City” in the Assembly, the Chief Minister also announced plans to build a new Osmania General Hospital by demolishing the old police quarters at Goshamahal, while the heritage structures of the current hospital complex will be preserved. He reiterated that the proposed Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRA) aims to prevent illegal encroachments around Hyderabad. He also revealed plans to change house numbers and implement a comprehensive development plan for Hyderabad.
He said that to protect lakes, canals and other water bodies in and around Hyderabad, proposals worth Rs 6,000 crore have been submitted to the Central government for financial assistance. He said the government has planned a Mega Master Plan 2050 to develop Hyderabad and turn it into a global city. He said plans are underway to develop Mucherla and surrounding areas as another city along with Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Cyberabad. In response to the request of AIMIM, the Chief Minister assured to develop Mir Alam Lake as a tourist spot on the lines of Durgam Cheruvu, build a cable suspension bridge and build Hyderabad Eye like the London Eye.
He said global tenders will be invited for the Musi Riverfront Development Project and it will be developed on the lines of London’s Thames River. He said the poor living on the banks of the Musi river will be compensated through TDR bonds and other means. Stating that the Congress government is ready to continue the good work of previous governments, Revanth Reddy assured to integrate the successful initiatives of other states like Gujarat. He recalled that former Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy had continued the innovative initiatives of his predecessor N Chandrababu Naidu for the development of Hyderabad in the then Andhra Pradesh.
