All the children who were victims of the accident belong to New Sunrise School, Vadodara. They had come to one side of the boat to take a selfie, due to which the boat overturned. None of these children or teachers were wearing life jackets. For this reason, when the boat overturned, everyone started drowning in water.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has ordered an investigation into the boat accident that took place in Harni Lake, Vadodara. The investigation has been handed over to Vadodara Collector. They have been asked to conduct an investigation within 10 days and submit a detailed report to the state government.
The students who lost their lives in the accident include Sakina Sheikh, Muhammad Sheikh, Ayat Mansoori, Ayaan Mohammed, Rehan Khalifa, Nizam, Juhbia, Subedar, Ayesha, Khalifa, Nancy, Hatvi Shah, Roshni Surve. Apart from these, teachers Chhaya Patel and Falguni Surti also lost their lives.
