CM Mohan Majhi launches enhanced pension scheme for elderly and divyang citizens in Odisha’s Keonjhar
Keonjhar: On the second day of his visit to Keonjhar, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has launched a pension scheme for senior citizens and Divyangs. He launched the schemes at a programme in Dharanidhar University on the occasion of Jan Seva Diwas.
The scheme will provide a monthly pension of Rs 3,500 which has been enhanced from the previous amount of Rs 1,200. The scheme is for both elderly citizens above the age of 80 years age and for Divyang citizens possessing 80% disability. As many as 9,913 beneficiaries in 13 blocks of Keonjhar district will receive the enhanced monthly pension.
These will be provided under the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana and the National Social Assistance Programme. On January 3 in a cabinet meeting under the Chairmanship of Odisha CM Mohan Majhi, this was approved by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
