CM launches ‘Sugam Shasan’ scheme to get government services faster

Tamil Nadu : Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the ‘Sugam Governance’ scheme, which will enable faster access to 10 key services of the Tamil Nadu government.

He launched the project at an event held at the Secretariat on Thursday.

Steps have been taken to simplify government administrative processes so that the public can access government services quickly and easily online. Under this, a project called ‘Sugam Governance’ has been prepared. In this, 10 important government services can be easily accessed online.

Health Certificate: Health certificates are issued to ensure that a premises does not pose any threat to the health of the people. The premises requiring this certificate will be issued immediately on the basis of an undertaking with a QR code by the responsible persons of the respective premises and uploaded on the website. The process of obtaining it in 3 months has been changed and the certificate will be available on the same day.

General Building License: While the building license certificate was issued for 3 years, now the license has been made valid for a specified period in the validity certificate. The process of getting it in 3 to six months has been changed and now it can be obtained instantly on the website with a ‘QR’ code to get it on the same day.

Old Age Homes: The process of registering old age homes has now become completely digital and has been changed to self-certification. The validity of the certificate has been made 10 years and it can be obtained online on the same day with a ‘QR’ code.

Women Hostels – GRIHA: Licenses for working women hostels and Mahila Grihas can also be obtained online instantly with a QR code. The validity period has been increased to 10 years.

Property Value Certificate: Property Value Certificate is issued based on the value of the land. In the current economic environment, the Property Value Certificate is being phased out as there are many options like bank balance sheet, chartered account certificate, income tax filing, etc. to verify one’s financial status.

The Tamil Nadu government has launched a Saral Governance scheme to make government schemes accessible to beneficiaries through a simplified process, according to a press release issued by the government.

The inauguration ceremony of the project was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi, Ministers Thangam Thennarasu, Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, Chief Secretary N. Muruganatham and many others.
