CM clarifies his stand on formation of Orissa High Court bench

Odisha: On Tuesday, in the Odisha Assembly, the Chief Minister clarified his stand on the issue of formation of Odisha High Court Bench. He further said that the government has not yet taken a final decision on this matter. A decision will be taken soon in this regard. On September 2, the Chief Minister of Odisha had said in the Assembly that as per the Supreme Court’s decision in this matter, there is no possibility of setting up a High Court Bench anywhere in Odisha. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi gave this answer to a written question asked by Balangir MLA Kalikesh Singh Dev. According to the report, in a written reply to the question of the Balangir MLA, the Chief Minister said that there is no possibility of setting up a High Court Bench. In the House, Balangir MLA Kalikesh Narayan Singh Dev asked whether the government has any proposal to set up a circuit bench of the High Court in Balangir. In response, Mohan Majhi told that as per the Supreme Court’s decision in this regard, there is no reason to set up a High Court Bench anywhere in Odisha. It is known that the people of Western Odisha have been demanding a High Court Bench for a long time. There was also a strike for several days.
