Cleanliness campaign has taken the form of a mass movement in the state: CM Vishnudev Sai
Raipur. In the Swachhata Hi Seva program organized at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada is being celebrated all over the country. Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada program was organized from Lord Vishwakarma Jayanti and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s birthday 17 September to Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary 2 October. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made everyone take a pledge of cleanliness from the ramparts of the Red Fort on 15 August 2014 to encourage cleanliness. He said that the Prime Minister’s call and Swachhata Abhiyan inspired all of us to keep streets, intersections, neighborhoods, schools, offices, public places clean. Swachhata Abhiyan has taken the form of a mass movement in the entire state. It is the moral duty of all of us to make Chhattisgarh beautiful and clean.
The Chief Minister further said that we all need to include cleanliness in our habit. He called upon the people to take a pledge to make Chhattisgarh a beautiful and clean Chhattisgarh and administered the oath of cleanliness to all present in the auditorium. He said that President Mahatma Gandhi had said that cleanliness is as important as independence. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi started Bapu’s dream by holding a broom in his hand. People of the country should participate in the Swachhata Abhiyan. Everyone should include cleanliness in their habit. In the program, he honored the institutions and individuals doing excellent work in the field of cleanliness and under Swachhata Hi Seva 2024. During this, he handed over the keys of the house to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Similarly, mobile vehicles for mosquito elimination and vehicles of grand strong military ceremony were flagged off.
Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap said that extensive work has been done for cleanliness in the state. The responsibility of cleanliness lies with all of us. We all should take a pledge that we will pay attention to cleanliness ourselves and inspire people. The picture of the country has changed due to the work being done under the Swachh Bharat Mission in the last 10 years.
Raipur MP Brijmohan Agarwal said that various types of diseases are born from dirt. Cleanliness is very important to avoid these diseases. The Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi, has given the message of cleanliness by running the Swachh Bharat Mission. To fulfill Gandhi’s dreams, our government is paying full attention to cleanliness along with self-reliant villages. In this closing ceremony of the Swachhta Pakhwada, Safai Karmacharis, Safai Didi and Safai Mitras are being honored.
