Class five student dies as school boundary wall collapses on him

Cuttack: In a heartwrenching incident, a class five student died reportedly after the boundary wall of his school collapsed on him in Adaspur area of Cuttack district on Wednesday.

The boundary wall of the Noda Primary School reportedly collapsed on one Sai Swaroop Bhoi, a student of class five, while he was playing along with other students during the play period.

Without any delay, the school teachers and other staff rushed to the spot after being alerted by the students who were playing with Sai and rescued him in a critical condition.

Soon, they informed Sai’s family members about the mishap and rushed him to the Adaspur Hospital along with some locals for treatment. Later, the student, who had sustained grievous injuries mostly on his head due to the wall collapse, was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated further. However, the doctors who attended Sai at the State government-run hospital declared him brought dead.

Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended on the village following the unfortunate and untimely death of class five student, said sources adding that the local police is expected to initiate a probe into the matter.
