Civil defence mock drills held in 12 places of Odisha including Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In view of the security concerns following India’s valiant Operation Sindoor, civil defence mock drills were held in 12 places of Odisha including Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

The Civil defence mock drills were held in Bhubaneswar, Khurda, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Puri, Koraput, Sundargarh, and Angul as per the direction of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

The MHA had asked the state governments to enhance civilian preparedness against potential threats, especially in view of the ongoing tensions with Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack which claimed lives of 16 innocent tourists.

In Bhubaneswar, the Civil defence mock drills from Rajmahal Square upto Sishu Bhawan Chhaka began with the air raid sirens at 4 PM. During which the concerned security personnel created awareness among the general public by displaying their skill to carry out rescue operations.

From fire brigades to ambulance, they used different kinds of equipment during the civil defence preparedness exercise which concluded with the second siren at 4.30 PM.

A huge number of people of different walks of lives had gathered on the spot to have the glance of the Civil defence mock drills and highly praised the efforts of the civil defence teams.
