Iran should be ready to face the consequences of its action. The statement said that we have given our message to the Iranian government on this incident. We have told them that Pakistan has decided to recall its ambassador from there and the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, who is currently in Iran, has also been told that there is a need to return here for the time being. We have suspended all types of high-level visits with Iran. Now China has also entered into the current developments in Iran and Pakistan.
China has asked both the countries to exercise restraint. China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that we asked both sides to exercise restraint, avoid any action that could cause tension and provocation, and work to maintain peace and stability. He said that we consider both Iran and Pakistan as close neighbors and both are big Islamic countries, hence both the countries should stay away from provocative actions. Ning said that both Iran and Pakistan are close to China and are members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
