Child falls into borewell in Delhi, rescue operation underway

New Delhi: A child fell into a 40 to 50 feet deep borewell in West Delhi. A fire department official said that the NDRF team has reached the spot and the rescue operation is going on.

Delhi Fire Department Director Atul Garg said that at around 1 o’clock in the night, information was received that a child had fallen into the borewell. After this, the team along with five fire tenders was sent to the spot at DJB, Keshopur Mandi.”

“The NDRF team along with NDRF Inspector in-charge Veer Pratap Singh has also reached the spot. A new borewell is being dug parallel to the borewell in which the child fell.”

“The rescue operation may take a long time, so a team from the fire department will also be at the spot,” Garg said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer said that after receiving a call from the police control room at Vikaspuri police station, a police team reached the spot.

DCP said, “NDRF has been called to the spot. Efforts are being made to take the child out. He has not been identified yet.”
