Chief Minister Kanya Sammelan Vivaah is an effective step to end the dowry system: Minister OP Choudhary

Sarangarh Bilaigarh. The Women and Child Development Department organized the Chief Minister Kanya Samuh Vivah in the Mandi premises of Sarangarh on the auspicious date of Ekadashi. The Mandi premises were crowded with the relatives of the bride and groom since morning. In this marriage, a grant of Rs 35 thousand will be given online in the bride’s bank account by the state government in two to three days. At the beginning of the program, the rituals of Sindoor Bandan, Jaimala and Mangalsutra were completed along with the wedding rounds in the fire pit of the altar. In this program, the guests including the Chief Guest Finance Minister OP Chaudhary lit lamps in front of Chhattisgarh Mahtari.

On this occasion, a symbolic cheque of 35 thousand was given to the bride and groom. The Finance Minister, while wishing and congratulating all the newlyweds and brides on their marriage, said that this government event is not just for grants, but to eradicate the evil practice of dowry spread in the country and society. Today 218 young couples and their parents have taken a step towards social reform which is a source of inspiration for the youth of future. Former MLA Kera Bai Manhar, Gurpal Bhalla, Jyoti Patel, Jagannath Panigrahi, Subhash Jalan, Collector Dharmesh Kumar Sahu, Superintendent of Police Pushkar Sharma were present on this occasion.
