Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated 67 new school buildings across Assam.

Assam: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated 67 newly constructed, state-of-the-art school buildings and laid the foundation stone for 61 more schools during a program in Sonapur on February 2.
This initiative, launched under the Atal Avichal Agragami Assam scheme with an investment of ₹765 crore, aims to strengthen the state’s educational infrastructure and create a modern learning environment for students across Assam. The newly constructed and proposed schools are expected to provide improved facilities and a better academic environment for both students and teachers.
Addressing the gathering in Sonapur, the Chief Minister stated that the government is committed to transforming Assam’s education system by investing in quality infrastructure, enabling students to dream big and achieve more. He emphasized that education remains a top priority for the long-term development of the state.
This event marks a significant milestone in Assam’s efforts to build world-class educational institutions and ensure inclusive and equitable access to quality education throughout the state.
