Chhattisgarh: The girl consumed poison after her lover was a policeman and she was cheated

Bilaspur. A head constable raped a girl from Sarkanda area on the pretext of marriage. The victim kept visiting many police stations but her report was not registered, then she tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. Sarkanda police then registered a crime against the head constable. The victim girl was having an affair with head constable Saurabh Choubey for some time. He promised to marry the girl and raped her several times. Meanwhile, the girl came to know that the constable has got engaged to another girl.

After getting the information, she met the head constable and asked him to fulfill the promise of marriage but he refused. To register a report against the head constable, she visited Civil Line, Sakri and Sarkanda police station several times but her report was not registered. Troubled by this, the victim tried to commit suicide by consuming poison on Monday. The family admitted her to the hospital in critical condition. As soon as Sarkanda police got information about the consumption of poison, they registered a crime of rape against head constable Saurabh Choubey.
