Chhattisgarh has immense possibilities of producing green hydrogen

Raipur. Raipur. In the dignified presence of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and Energy Department Secretary P. Dayanand, in the ‘Green Hydrogen CEO Round Table’ conference organized during the Global Renewable Energy Investor Meet-2024 held in Gujarat, investors were informed that Chhattisgarh has immense possibilities of producing green hydrogen. Investors investing in Chhattisgarh to build a green economy will be provided every possible encouragement and support under the state’s new Industrial Policy 2024-29. Chhattisgarh was represented in this conference by Sumit Sarkar, Chief Executive Officer, Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority (CBDA). The Chief Executive Officer of CBDA highlighted the immense possibilities in the field of unconventional energy in the state of Chhattisgarh in this International Investor Meet.

Investors were invited to invest in important future biomass based schemes in Chhattisgarh like bio-ethanol, biojet aviation fuel, compressed biogas and green hydrogen etc. Investors were informed that there is abundance of biomass such as agricultural waste, waste from dairy industry, waste from fruit and vegetable markets, cow dung in the entire rural landscape of Chhattisgarh state, which has immense potential for large-scale production of green hydrogen by processing it with appropriate technology. If this effort is successful, green hydrogen will be used as an industrial application in large steel industries, food processing units, fertilizer units operating in the state. In this way, Chhattisgarh’s important contribution towards the target of 5 million metric tonnes production of the National Green Hydrogen Mission by the year 2030 will be certain and will help in realizing the vision of self-reliant India in the direction of energy conservation. The Chief Executive Officer of CBDA assured all the investors that the new Industrial Policy 2024-29 of the state will provide maximum possible encouragement to investors for the creation of a green economy, as well as create new employment opportunities in the state.
