Chhattisgarh: Ganja worth 6 lakhs seized, 6 smugglers arrested

Bastar: Police has arrested 6 smugglers with Ganja worth about 6 lakh rupees. All these smugglers are from Maharashtra who were going to Maharashtra with Ganja from Odisha via Chhattisgarh through bikes. However, the police have blocked all of them and sent them to jail by setting up a blockade in Darbha and Parapa police station areas of Bastar. 60 kg of Ganja has been recovered from them.

Actually, the police had received information that some Ganja smugglers were going to smuggle through bikes. Based on this information, the police had blocked the Parapa police station and Darbha police station. The vehicles coming and going were being checked. Meanwhile, 6 people reached Darbha through three bikes in Darbha. Where the police stopped them. 2 people riding a bike had escaped by dodging the police.

The police got suspicious. After which they were caught in Keshlur of Parapa. All of them were searched. Police recovered 43 kg of ganja from the 4 people caught in Darbha. While 17 kg of ganja was recovered from the youths caught in Parapa. During interrogation, they revealed their names as Sheikh Sameer (20), Shyam Raut (19), Rahul Lambade (23), Sheikh Rajik (22), Om Dutta (20), Ajay Munda (22). All of them are residents of Maharashtra.
