Chhattisgarh: 2 youths arrested for stealing belongings of a youth who was urinating

chhattisgarh news Regarding the theft incident, on 23 July 2024, Kanhaiya Khadiya (age 25 years) resident of village Banhar filed an application and registered a report in Kotraroad police station, the reporter told that he works in a mobile shop in Raigarh, as usual, on the night of July 02, after duty, he was going home to Banhar from Raigarh on his motorcycle, when at around 10:30 pm, he parked his motorcycle near Gejamuda Chowk on National Highway 49 and was urinating at some distance by hanging his bag in the handle. At the same time, two boys stopped there on a motorcycle and then left. Kanhaiya Khadiya came near the motorcycle after urinating and saw that the bag kept on his motorcycle was missing. The mobile, watch, purse, tiffin, raincoat and cash amounting to ₹7000 inside the bag were stolen by the same two unknown youths, on which a crime was registered against the unknown accused under crime number 260/2024 section 303(2) BNS in Kotra Road police station and investigation was taken up.

Looking at the seriousness of the matter, Kotra Road police station in-charge Inspector Trinath Tripathi immediately left for the spot with his staff and checked the CCTV footage installed around Gejamuda Chowk and the shops on the NH and questioned the people around about the incident. Meanwhile, the informer told the police station in-charge that he saw two youths of Jute Mill area, Yogesh Chauhan alias Golu and Chandrakant Banjare standing at a paan cart at Gejamuda Chowk and roaming on the highway with a cloth tied over their mouths. On the basis of information from the informer, the police station in-charge and his team raided Jorapali while tracking both the suspects. Both had fled from there. The police reached their house while tracking both and took both the suspects – Chandrakant Banjare and Yogesh Chauhan alias Golu, both residents of Rajiv Nagar Jute Mill, into custody. On strict interrogation of both, they told that they roam around on the highway at night on a motorcycle with the intention of stealing from passersby and commit theft when they find an opportunity. They told that on the night of July 2, they stole a bag hanging on the handle of a young man’s motorcycle and ran away in which mobile, digital watch, bag, raincoat, tiffin and money were found. On the memorandum of the accused, 02 Android mobiles, a digital watch, bag, raincoat, tiffin, Honda SP 125 motorcycle used in the incident, ₹3000 after expenses have been seized.
