Actor Chetan Kumar arrested for insulting religion

Kannada actor Chetan Kumar has a long association with controversies. He often remains in the discussion due to his statements. Now recently, the actor has once again come into the limelight for one of his tweets. Chetan Kumar had made a tweet yesterday regarding Hindutva. Which went viral on social media. After which the leader of Bajrang Dal lodged a complaint against him in Pulim. Now the police have arrested him in this case.

Chetan Kumar tweeted on March 20 that ‘Hindutva rests on lies’. Savarkar: The Indian ‘nation’ began when Rama defeated Ravana and returned to Ayodhya. a lie 1992: Babri Masjid is the ‘birthplace of Ram’. A lie, 2023: Urigowda-Nanjegowda are Tipu’s ‘killers’. A lie, Hindutva can be defeated with the truth. Truth is equality.’

According to the news of news agency ANI, Hindu organizations have strongly opposed this tweet. Expressing its opposition, Bajrang Dal has called it an insult to Hindu religion. On the other hand, Bajrang’s Shivakumar lodged a complaint against the actor at Seshadripuram police station. Now on March 22, Chetan Kumar has been arrested.

This is not the first time Chetan Kumar has been arrested for making such statements. Earlier, the actor had come into limelight regarding the Karnataka hijab controversy. The actor was arrested by the Bengaluru Police after it was alleged that he had tweeted derogatory remarks against a judge hearing the hijab controversy.
