Chennai photographer duped on the pretext of ‘pre-wedding shoot’
Maharashtra: A young photographer from Chennai was duped on the pretext of a ‘pre-wedding shoot’. The photographer was called to Pune with the promise of taking pictures in Pune and Goa. The thieves stole three cameras, lenses and other equipment worth Rs 12.85 lakh from a lodge near Pune station and fled. In this case, Bundgarden police have registered a case against two thieves. Photographer Raghavendra M. Gokul (age 29, resident of Shantinagar, Vyasarpadi, Chennai, Tamil Nadu) has lodged a complaint in this regard at Bundgarden police station. According to the information given by the police, on January 18, the thieves contacted Raghavendra’s brother on his mobile number.
They want to do a ‘pre-wedding shoot’ in Pune and Goa. Accommodation and travel expenses will be arranged. The thieves promised to pay him Rs 3 lakh for this work. After that the thieves initially sent him Rs 19,000 online. On January 22, Raghavendra and his brother Govindaraju left Chennai for Pune by a midnight flight. They reached Pune early in the morning. They were then told that they had made arrangements to stay in a lodge near Pune station.
The next day, at around 8 am, their mobile number was contacted. The thieves told them that the person from Kondhwa had some work. They wanted to go near the Corianthan Club to meet him. Accordingly, Raghavendra and his brother went there by car. It was then seen that the thief’s mobile number was switched off. After staying there for an hour, both of them returned to the lodge near Pune station. It was then seen that three cameras, lenses and other material had been stolen from the lodge room. Raghavendra informed the lodge management about the incident. The CCTV footage of the lodge was examined.
