CHENNAI: Flag pole collides with electric wire, death

Chennai: A DMDK functionary died of electric shock on Sunday while he was preparing to celebrate the birth anniversary of late party founder and actor Vijayakanth. The deceased has been identified as Venkatesan of Nadukuppam village in Panruti, Thanthi TV reported. Venkatesan died when he came in contact with a high voltage electric wire while he was hoisting the flag. Five other DMDK workers who tried to save him were seriously injured. The Muthandikuppam police have registered a case and investigations are underway.
