Chennai Corporation restaurants to get cooking gas supply for 2 weeks

Tamil Nadu: Chennai Corporation Commissioner J. Kumaragurubaran stated that Amma Canteens and Breakfast Scheme kitchens in the city have a two-week supply of cooking gas.

The Chennai Corporation operates 383 Amma Canteens. Cooking is done using LPG cylinders in Amma Canteens, School Breakfast Scheme kitchens, and the Sanitation Workers Food Scheme.

Regarding the availability of cooking gas cylinders for these purposes, Corporation Commissioner J. Kumaragurubaran stated:

All locations within the Chennai Corporation, including Amma Canteens, sanitation workers’ cooking areas, and cemeteries, have the required two-week supply of gas cylinders. Furthermore, steps have been taken to ensure uninterrupted supply of gas cylinders in collaboration with the Food Supply Department and the Cooperative Department.

He stated that relevant officials have been instructed to continuously monitor the demand for gas cylinders for the aforementioned kitchens.
