Chandigarh: Two bike riding robbers snatched gold chain and fled

Chandigarh: Two miscreants on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain and pendant from a woman. The complainant, a resident of Sector 51, said that the miscreants targeted her near her house. A case has been registered at Sector 49 police station and investigation has been started. TNS
Case registered against two immigration agents
Chandigarh: UT police has registered a case of fraud against two immigration consultants. In the first case, a woman resident of Rajasthan complained that she was cheated of Rs 9 lakh by Education Immigration Services, Sector 44, in the name of sending her abroad. In the second case, Pramod Kumar, a resident of Bihar, alleged that Gazal Kapoor of Global Consultancy, Sector 32, cheated him of Rs 1.5 lakh. A case has been registered at Sector 34 police station. Both the cases are under investigation. TNS
Two minors arrested for shop theft
Chandigarh: The UT police has arrested two juveniles for allegedly stealing cash worth Rs 1.20 lakh from a shop in Modern Housing Complex (MHC) at Mani Majra on the intervening night of July 20 and 21. The complainant Shikha had informed that the cash kept in the locker was stolen. A case was registered at Mani Majra police station. During the investigation, CCTV footage of the area was examined and the suspects were identified and later apprehended. TNS
New general secretary of fertility society
Mohali: Dr Loveleen Kaur Sodhi, senior IVF consultant at a private centre in Mohali, has taken over as general secretary of the Greater Chandigarh chapter (GCC) of the Indian Fertility Society (IFS). The new executive committee of the GCC took charge for a period of two years at an installation ceremony held during a day-long conference on infertility management on Sunday. The GCC of IFS was established in 2011 and has around 100 members from the tricity. TNS
Facilitation camp in Mohali today
Mohali: As part of the series of camps launched by the Punjab government under the “Aap Di Sarkar Aap De Dwaar” campaign, a camp is being organised at Kambli village in Mohali sub-division on July 23. The camp timings will be from 10 am to 1 pm. Residents of Kambli, Kambli, Chilla and Papri can voice their grievances at the camp. TNS

Mohali: The new expansion block of Sangam Netralaya, Mohali was inaugurated by Punjab Chief Secretary Anurag Verma on Sunday.
