Chandigarh: MP Tiwari raised the issues of the city before the Governor

Chandigarh: After raising issues of the city in the Lok Sabha, local MP Manish Tewari has now met Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria and requested them to resolve five major problems, some of which have remained unresolved for 25 years. The issues raised by Tewari before the governor include share-wise sale/transfer of property, need-based modifications in Chandigarh Housing Board houses, ownership rights to people living in rehabilitation colonies, abolition of the revenue concept of “lal dora” and cooperative group housing societies. These issues were also major issues during the Lok Sabha elections here. During the recent Parliament session, the MP had raised the issue of construction outside the Lal Dora in the city. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had denied any move to regularise illegal constructions outside the Lal Dora in 22 villages.
