CHANDIGARH: Man booked for job fraud worth Rs 7.5 lakh

Panchkula Police has registered a case of fraud against a person following a complaint by some residents of Pinjore.

Complainant Balkar Singh said that accused Ravi Gill, who claimed to be working with the CID wing of Haryana Police, had taken Rs 7.50 lakh from him and some others in the name of getting jobs for their children in Panjab University. . “We later learned that he had swindled our money and had no intention of helping us get any job,” they alleged.

Police have registered a case under IPC sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating and dishonesty).
