Chandigarh: Court issued notice on contempt petition

Chandigarh: In a contempt petition filed by Chandigarh Club president Sandeep Sahni, a local court has issued a notice to Chandigarh Sector 36-B resident Kawaljit Singh Walia for November 13. Sahni’s counsel Sunil Tony told the court in the petition that in an order dated November 5, the Chandigarh Civil Judge (Junior Division) had restrained Walia and others from publishing or issuing any defamatory, false and unverified statement on their social media accounts in relation to Sahni till further orders. Tony said that despite the stay order and legal notice, the respondents continued to upload various videos on the YouTube platform making false allegations.
