CHANDIGARH: 4 robbery cases solved, 2 caught
Chandigarh: Police claimed to have solved four robbery cases with the arrest of two miscreants. At least 12 mobile phones, three wallets and a motorcycle were seized from their possession. The police claimed that the suspects, identified as Manny (24) and Mohit (20) alias Mohini, residents of Fatehgarh Sahib, had targeted at least 10 people since January 1. A city court sent him to three-day police custody.
Mohali: Three unidentified youths riding a bike allegedly snatched the phone from a doctor located in Sector 70 on January 15. The victim, Amandeep Kaur, of Sector 12, Panchkula, called the police helpline from a shop. A case has been registered.
Panchkula: Police launched a special campaign against encroachment and street vendors on Wednesday. Teams from Sector 5, 14, 20, Chandimandir and Mansa Devi Complex police stations along with HSVP officials removed the roadside vendors. Police officials said the vendors disrupted traffic movement in the city.
IMTECH celebrated its foundation day
Chandigarh: Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) organized several programs to celebrate its 40th foundation day on Wednesday. PU Vice-Chancellor Professor Renu Vig delivered a lecture on the topic ‘Impact of Technology on Society’.
