Chandigarh: 2 arrested for attacking hotel staff

Chandigarh: Six armed youths attacked hotel staff with sharp-edged weapons and vandalised the reception of Hotel KC Grand in Baltana on Thursday night. Police arrested Jind residents Mandeep Nain and Monu and registered a case against four others under sections 115 (2), 110, 351, 323 and 180 of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) at Baltana police station. One of the accused, Monu, earlier worked at the hotel, while Mandeep runs another hotel nearby. Police said they received information that around 9.30 pm, three youths entered the hotel and attacked three staff members, including a woman receptionist and the hotel owner, and ransacked the reception and fled. All three suffered serious head injuries and were rushed to a hospital for treatment. Police said there have been clashes between the two sides earlier as well. They said they would investigate the old rivalry.
