Chandigarh: 13 couples tied the knot in a mass wedding

Chandigarh: Thirteen couples tied the knot at a mass marriage ceremony organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad here today. Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla blessed the newlyweds and appreciated the role of Bharat Vikas Parishad for organising the ceremony. She emphasised the importance of such initiatives in promoting social welfare and reducing the financial burden on families. “This event reflects the true spirit of solidarity and compassion, which strengthens the bonds within our society,” the Mayor said. Community leaders, dignitaries and well-wishers of the newlyweds attended the ceremony. Each couple was given essential gifts to help them begin their new journey, symbolising the collective goodwill and support. The Council expressed its gratitude to all contributors and supporters, reaffirming its commitment to serve the society through meaningful initiatives.

Ward 10 gives Mayor a warm welcome

Residents of Ward No. 10 of Sector 29 extended a grand welcome to the newly elected Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla on assuming the new role. The Mayor said, “I am overwhelmed by the love and support I have received from the people of Sector 29. It is a privilege for me to serve this wonderful city and I feel very humbled on this occasion.” She added, “This responsibility comes with a lot of pride and I am excited to work closely with the residents to make Chandigarh an even better place to live in.” The Mayor assured the residents that their concerns would be addressed with utmost sincerity. “I look forward to working with all of you to build a clean and green Chandigarh,” she added. The Mayor urged all citizens to join hands to contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the city.
