Chain mountain machine seized from river, department took action on sand thieves

Durg. Joint team of Mineral and Revenue Department has taken action against illegal sand mining in Shivnath river located in Durg district. During this, the team seized a motor boat and a chain mountain machine from the spot. In fact, in Dhamdha, the sand mafia is fearlessly extracting sand from the Shivnath river. On receiving information about this, the Revenue and Mineral Department jointly inspected Shivnath river in Hardi village of Dhamdha tehsil on Thursday. During this, the staff seized a chain mountain machine, a JCB and a submarine (boat) from the spot.

On the other hand, the villagers present on the spot told that these machines have been brought by Ranjit Pal, a resident of Risali. He has so far taken out about 1,000 cubic feet of sand and about 500 cubic feet of sand is kept on the spot. The team sealed the seized machine and handed it over to the Mineral Officer.
