CG: Thief expert in opening locks arrested, 7 bikes seized

Raigarh raigarh news. To curb bike theft and property related crimes, SP Divyang Kumar Patel has directed all police station and outpost in-charges to keep an eye on the accused and suspicious persons challaned in property related crimes in their area and take action.

A motorcycle Passion Pro CG 13 X 4228 was stolen from Kotraroad police station area on June 20. In this case, a crime number 236/2024 under section 379 IPC was registered against an unknown accused at Kotraroad police station and during investigation the CCTV footage of the incident spot and surrounding areas was retrieved. The photographs of the suspect are visible in the footage. The police station in-charge was engaged in tracing the suspect with the staff by sharing them with his informers. The informer informed that the stolen motorcycle Passion Pro was stolen and hidden by Rakesh Kumar Chandra, resident of village Uchchbhitti. Immediately, Kotraroad police detained the suspect Rakesh Kumar Chandra near Kirodimal Nagar Azad Chowk, upon questioning whom he revealed the identity of his partner Akhilesh Kashyap, native of village Jobi, currently residing in Naila. He told about stealing 07 bikes from Kirodimal Nagar Kotraroad, in which he admitted to stealing a Passion Pro motorcycle CG13 AX 4228 from Jindal Parking, Patrapali. Accused Rakesh Kumar Chandra told that he kept 03 bikes with himself and 02 bikes with his friend Akhilesh Kashyap and 02 stolen bikes were kept with his uncle Manoj Kumar Chandra of his village for sale. Chhattisgarh Kotraroad Police has seized motorcycle Passion Pro CG 13 AX 4228, one Bajaj Pulsar and one HF Deluxe motor cycle from the possession of accused Rakesh Kumar Chandra. On the information received from accused Rakesh Chandra, police raided his rented house at Ganesh Chowk Kirorimal Nagar and detained Akhilesh Kashyap. A red colour Hero CD Deluxe and a red black colour Pulsar bike were seized from Akhilesh Kashyap, after which the police team raided the residence of accused Manoj Kumar Chandra in village Galgaldih, Jaijepur police station. A Yamaha R15 bike and a Hero Honda motorcycle CG 13 R 9373 were recovered and seized from the house of the accused. As the number of accused was more than one and accused Manoj Chandra was in possession of stolen property, sections 34, 411 IPC were extended in the case. Police have succeeded in recovering a total of 7 stolen bikes worth ₹5,30,000 from the accused. The accused have been arrested and sent on judicial remand.
