CG Police conducted interstate operation, mystery of double murder solved
Raigarh. Kotwali police achieved significant success in solving the mystery of the murder of an elderly woman and her elder brother at Purani Hatri. A special team formed by Superintendent of Police Divyang Patel has arrested two youths who carried out the murder and a young woman who helped them in hiding the evidence. On the intervening night of 12-13 January, the bodies of Sitaram Jaiswal (age 78 years) and his sister Annapurna Jaiswal (age 68 years), residents of Purani Hatri under Kotwali police station area, were found in their house. On the report of deceased Sitaram’s cousin Ashok Jaiswal, a crime number 24/2025 under section 103(1) BNS was registered against the unknown accused at Kotwali police station and investigation was taken up.
Superintendent of Police Divyaang Patel formed four different teams under the leadership of Additional SP Akash Markam, City Superintendent of Police Akash Shukla, DSP Cyber Cell Abhinav Upadhyay in which Inspector, Sub Inspector level officers were given different responsibilities. Along with the police team, forensic team, cyber cell and police dog closely inspected the crime scene and seized physical evidence. Police was investigating all aspects of the case, a team was scanning about 200 CCTV footage of the crime scene and the city and two accused Kishan Sharma and Atul Dansena who committed the crime were clearly identified.
In view of the increased police activity in arresting the accused, on December 18, accused Kishan Sharma along with his fiancée Divya Sarathi and accused Atul Dansena fled to Delhi from Gondwana Express. The Superintendent of Police shared the photographs of the accused with the bordering districts and RPF for the arrest of the accused, due to which the accused were brought down from Gondwana Express by Jhansi RPF. They were called to Raigarh by the Raigarh police team for a statement, on intensive interrogation all the three accused accepted the incident. According to the information received from the accused, accused Kishan Sharma suspected that Ashok Jaiswal had hidden a large amount of money at his cousin Sitaram’s house in Hatri. Then Kishan told Atul Dansena, who works in the family’s Shagun Dairy, about the plan to commit murder and steal the money and three days before the incident, the three made a plan of murder and theft at girlfriend Divya Sarathi’s rented house in Hirapur and according to the plan, both the accused bought masks and gloves and brought an iron crowbar from Divya’s native village Dhangaon (Pusaur) and kept it at Divya’s rented house. According to the plan, both the accused came to Purani Hatri on a motorcycle from Hirapur rented house on the night of January 12, parked the motorcycle and reached near Sitaram’s house at midnight, when there was no movement, Atul Dansena jumped over the wall and went inside, opened the door, then Kishan entered from the door. There were 3-4 people inside including Ashok Jaiswal, Sitaram and his two sisters. Then both the accused hid in the store room. After Ashok and Geeta left after having food, the accused attacked Annapurna Jaiswal with an iron crowbar and brick. Hearing Annapurna’s scream, Sitaram came out and killed him by both the accused with crowbar and brick. Then both of them searched for money in the house and when they could not find it, they came out again and went to Divya’s house and told Divya about the incident. After this, seeing the police commotion in the city, on January 18, all three fled by train to avoid police arrest. Police have seized the motorcycle Splendor Plus used in the murder parked in the railway station parking and the clothes, mask, gloves and 03 mobiles worn at the time of the incident from the possession of the accused. Sections 238, 61(2), 3(5) BNS have been extended in the case and the accused have been sent on remand. Arrested accused
