In the case of death of 5 people due to suffocation in Village Kikirda under Birra police station of Janjgir-Champa, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has announced financial assistance of five lakh rupees each to the families of the deceased. Giving information about this on his X handle, the Chief Minister has said that the tragic death of 5 people was reported due to the poisonous gas of the well in village Kikirda of Janjgir. It is worth noting that there is an old well in Kikirda village of Birra area in Janjgir district. Which was not being used for a long time. The villagers had covered the well by making a thatched roof out of old wood. Due to heavy rain and strong winds in the area for the past few days, the wooden thatched roof fell inside the well. A man from the village went inside the well to take it out and did not return for a long time. After this, four more people went down into the well one by one and could not come out. It is feared that due to the well being closed for a long time, poisonous gas has started coming out, due to which five people died.
