CG BREAKING: Kawasi Lakhma may be arrested after ED’s questioning!
Raipur. Former Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma reached the ED office on Friday with his son Harish Kawasi in the liquor scam case of Rs 2500 crore. He was being questioned till the time of writing the news. Apart from Lakhma father-son, his former OSD Jayant Dewangan also reached the ED office. Kawasi Lakhma, who was the Excise Minister in the Bhupesh government, was summoned by the ED. Kawasi reached the ED’s zonal office at Pachpedi Naka at 11 am with his son Harish Kawasi. After this, ED officers questioned him. The questioning was going on till the time of writing the news and according to sources, ED can also arrest Kawasi Lakhma and his son Harish Kawasi immediately after the questioning. On reaching the ED office, on being asked by the media, he said that I am fully cooperating with the investigating agency. The truth will soon come out in front of everyone. And while getting into the lift, he only waved his hand saying Ram Ram. His son Harish also waved his hand. Earlier, Kawasi had said yesterday that he will tell everything to ED. He will answer every question. He has also said that during Congress rule, he did not get even a single rupee of the income from liquor. At the same time, ED claimed in a statement yesterday that it has proof of Kawasi getting Rs 50 lakh commission every month. At the same time, former CM Bhupesh Baghel had called this investigation illegal. In the liquor scam case, ED has been questioning former Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma, his son Harish Lakhma and then OSD Jayant Dewangan for five hours. ED officials are questioning the three at Pujari Chambers Pachpedi Naka sub-regional office on every point.
ED raided the three locations of former Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma and his son Harish Lakhma in three districts Raipur, Sukma and Dhamtari on 28 December. After the raid, the ED had said in its statement that it has been able to collect evidence related to the use of POC in cash by Kawasi Lakhma. Apart from this, several digital devices were recovered and seized during the search, which are believed to have objectionable records. Now ED officials are engaged in connecting the links by interrogating. According to information received from sources, ED can arrest Kawasi Lakhma and his son Harish Lakhma after interrogation. Along with this, they can present them in the court and demand remand for further interrogation. ED has been taking action for almost two years regarding the liquor scam in Chhattisgarh. In this case, Raipur Mayor Ejaz Dhebar’s brother Anwar Dhebar and AP Tripathi are already in jail. In the ongoing action of ED in the case, many politicians and officials may come under the radar in the coming days.
