CG BREAKING: Cow smuggling exposed under Operation Shankhnaad, 9 cows rescued
Jashpur. Jashpur. Under the special campaign “Operation Shankhnaad” being run by the police against cow smuggling in the district, Jashpur police has once again achieved great success. Under this campaign, the police rescued 09 cows safely from the clutches of cow smugglers, while one cow died in this tragic incident. At the time of the incident, the smugglers were smuggling these cattle in a pickup vehicle, which went out of control and overturned on the road. Immediately after the accident, the accused smugglers fled leaving the vehicle and the cattle on the spot.
According to the information received, Jashpur police had received secret information that some smugglers were illegally smuggling cows in a pickup vehicle. As soon as the information was received, the police cordoned off the area and started monitoring. Meanwhile, the suspicious pickup vehicle went out of control and overturned. The accident was so serious that one cow died on the spot, while the remaining 09 cows were rescued by the police in an injured condition. Taking advantage of the accident, the smugglers fled from the spot. The police immediately reached the spot and took control of the situation and rescued the cows safely. The pickup vehicle used in smuggling has been seized and a detailed investigation is being conducted into the matter. Since the incident, the police have raided several possible hideouts to identify and arrest the accused. Local police stations have been alerted and search operations are being conducted in the border areas. The police have also indicated that the accused will be caught soon.
It is worth noting that for the past few months, an increase in cow smuggling incidents was being seen in Jashpur district. Keeping this in mind, a special campaign called “Operation Shankhnaad” was started by the Jashpur Superintendent of Police. Under this campaign, illegal smuggling, slaughter, transportation and trade of cattle is being monitored across the district. Senior police officers themselves are monitoring the campaign and action is going on continuously. This action of Jashpur Police is not only a commendable step towards protecting cows, but it has also given a clear message to the smugglers involved in illegal activities that such illegal acts will no longer be tolerated.
