CG Accident: Bike rider crushes girl, painful death

Durg. In Chhattisgarh’s Durg district, a speeding bike hit a girl crossing a four-lane road. The girl suffered serious head injuries after falling on the road due to the collision. The girl died on the spot. After the incident, angry people beat up the accused. On receiving the information, the old Bhilai police reached the spot and registered a case and took the matter into investigation. The girl was the daughter of Bhilai Charoda Municipal Corporation’s Leader of Opposition and BJP councilor Ram Khilawan Verma. After the accident, the people present there caught the accused youth and beat him up. The police reached the spot and took the accused bike driver into custody.

According to the information, the girl Meenakshi Verma (20) had left home on Friday to go to Mehndi coaching class. The girl was crossing the four-lane before the Bijli Colony gate. While crossing the road, a speeding bike going from Bhilai to Kumhari hit her. The girl died on the spot due to serious head injury in the accident. The name of the accused bike driver is Nikhil Dhiwar (23), who is a resident of Shanti Nagar Bhilai-3. People say that the accused was driving the bike at high speed while swaying on the road. The deceased’s father Ram Khilawan Verma is a two-time councilor. As soon as the information about the incident was received, Bhilai Charoda Corporation Mayor Nirmal Kosare along with other councilors and public representatives also reached the Government Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital Supela. At present, the police have sent the body for post-mortem.
