CG: 3 arrested for cheating people under the pretence of exorcism
DHAMTARI: From 28.01.24, the accused Puran Sahu Baiga, Ramakant Sahu and Bhishma Kumar Sahu, in the name of physical treatment and house bondage, exorcising ghosts and removing bones buried in the house, by showing fear of divine wrath, cheated the applicant Dehu Ram Sahu Rs. 21500/- and from Digamber Sahu Rs. 55,500/- in the name of house bondage and treatment of his wife and exorcising ghosts, from Thugeshwar Sahu Rs. 50000/- in the name of getting rid of alcohol and removing bones from house bondage, from Sanjay Sahu Bhaismundi Rs. 42000/- in the name of house bondage and treatment of his child, from Dinu Ram Sahu Bhaismundi Rs. 47000/- in the name of house bondage and removing bones buried in the house, from Mrs. Sonbati Sahu in the name of getting her husband rid of alcohol and removing bones buried in the house. 80000/- rupees in cash, 43500/- rupees through Phone Pay and 50000/- rupees in cash were taken from Santoshi Sahu, resident of Bhaismudi, in the name of removing the evil spirit and evil spirit obstacle sitting in the mind of her son, 130000/- rupees from Hemin Sahu, resident of village Lafendi, in the name of delivery of son and daughter-in-law, 345000/- rupees from Ritesh Sahu, resident of village Kandel, in the name of getting a child by driving away the ghost and evil spirit sitting in the womb of his wife, 75000/- rupees from Parmanand Sahu in the name of getting him rid of alcohol, house-shop binding and removing the ghost and evil spirit obstacle, 70000/- rupees for house binding and physical treatment of Sunil Sahu, resident of Chhoti Kareli, in the name of physical treatment and house binding of Dhaneshwari Yadav, daughter of Dhaniram Yadav, resident of Karelichoti, in the name of removing the bones of the ghost buried in the house, through cash and Phone Pay. On the report of applicant Dehu Ram Sahu, Magarlod Police Station took immediate legal action and registered a case against the accused under sections 420, 508, 34 IPC and the accused were duped and sent on judicial remand.
