CG: 2 coachmen arrested for carrying illegal liquor on bike

Rajnandgaon. Rajnandgaon. Police arrested two accused who were illegally transporting liquor on a motorcycle and took action against them. Police took action against the accused under Section 34(2) of the Excise Act. According to the information received, under the leadership of Gaindatola police station in-charge inspector Arun Kumar Namdev, in order to conduct the urban body and three-tier panchayat elections peacefully and to maintain law and order, Gaindatola police took action against those involved in illegal liquor transportation and sale on the intervening night of 7-8 February.
Information was received from an informer that two persons were illegally carrying Maharashtra-made Desi Santra liquor in a plastic bag on a motorcycle towards village Koliari. On receiving information, the police reached the spot near the Phagrutola pond and surrounded two persons, Rajesh Kumar Mandavi (28 years) and Bhubaneshwar Uikey (32 years), both residents of village Koliari, who were transporting illegal liquor. Taking action against the accused, 200 pieces of illegal Maharashtra made desi orange liquor worth Rs. 7000 packed in a white colour sack and the motorcycle used in the incident were seized. Section 34(2) of the Excise Act was registered against the accused and investigation action was taken. Both the accused were produced in the Court of Rajnandgaon.
