Century Plyboards chief Sajjan Bhajanka honoured with Padma Shri, thanks the government

Jaipur Jaipur: Padma Shri awardee Century Plyboards (India) Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Sajjan Bhajanka thanked the Central government for appreciating the work of him and his group. “I am very happy. Every industrialist, every social worker who gets such an award is very happy,” Bhajanka told ANI. Sajjan Bhajanka started his career in 1976. “I worked hard and with full honesty. But after a small beginning, slowly today our Century Plywood is the largest plywood firm in the country,” he said.

He further said, “Apart from this, we have also started a cement plant in the Northeast. This is also the largest project in the Northeast. We have worked hard and we have built a good team. And all of us have done a good job together.” He thanked the government and the people of India on the occasion and said, “So, through business we have served the country. And today, the Government of India has appreciated and encouraged our service through this Padma Shri award.”

Padma Awards – one of the highest civilian awards of the country, is conferred in three categories, namely Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The awards are given in various disciplines/fields of activities – arts, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc.

‘Padma Vibhushan’ is given for exceptional and distinguished service; ‘Padma Bhushan’ for distinguished service of high order and ‘Padma Shri’ for distinguished service in any field. The awards are announced every year on the occasion of Republic Day. These awards are presented by the President of India at formal ceremonies held at Rashtrapati Bhavan around March and April every year.
