CBI arrests ED Deputy Director Chintan Raghuvanshi in Rs 50 lakh bribery case

Bhubaneswar: The CBI has arrested Chintan Raghuvanshi, the Deputy Director of Bhubaneswar Zonal Office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after enquiring him for over 12 hours. His health check up will be conducted at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar after which he will be court forwarded.
He was caught red-handed by the CBI while accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh. CBI detained him and enquired for over 12 hours.
The CBI had laid a trap following a complaint and apprehended him at the scene. He received the bribe of Rs 20 lakh by a broker named Bhakti Behera. Several classified documents were also recovered from his office.
On January 8, ED had conducted raids at 14 locations associated with miner Ratikant Rout alias Julu. In order to dismiss the case, Raghuvanshi was demanding bribe of Rs 50 lakh. The raid was conducted in connection with the alleged illegal financial transactions of his company.
However, the final settlement was done at Rs 20 lakh. Laying a trap to catch him in the act, the ED Deputy Director Chintan Raghuvanshi was caught by CBI.
