Cases of attacks on women have increased in the state: DGP

Hyderabad: Telangana DGP Shivdhar Reddy held a press meet today (Tuesday) in the backdrop of the year-ending. He revealed the report on the performance of the police for the year 2025. Speaking on the occasion, he said that law and order in the state is completely under control this year. He said that the police are working with great dedication and are risking their lives to maintain law and order.
The DGP said that 782 murders were committed in Telangana in 2025 and the crime rate has decreased by 2.33 percent. It was revealed that 509 Maoists surrendered this year. He said that the police worked in coordination with the relief teams during the rains and floods. He said that the Telangana Gram Panchayat elections were held peacefully.
The TG Police boss said that national and international gatherings were celebrated without any hindrance. He said that the visit of football player Messi was also successful. He said that Telangana is in the top place in state policing. He said that a Telangana Tourist Police department has been set up and there are 80 personnel in it.
The DGP revealed that a QR code has been installed in every police station for feedback. On this occasion, he also responded to the phone tapping case and the Ibomma Ravi case. He said that the phone tapping case is currently under investigation in the Supreme Court and there is no point in leaving it, no matter who is involved in this case. He said that they know what to do in the Ibomma Ravi case.
He said that the number of road accidents increased by 5.6 percent in 2025 compared to 2024. He said that rape cases have also decreased from 2,945 to 2,549 compared to 2024. He said that robbery cases have decreased from 703 to 512. He said that riot cases have decreased from 324 to 186. He said that kidnapping cases have decreased from 1525 to 1145.
