Cannot grant bail to those who play with the future of youth: High Court

Bilaspur. The High Court has rejected the bail plea of three accused including the Exam Controller in the CG-PSC recruitment scam. In the case, Justice BD Guru said that ‘The one who leaks the question paper of competitive examination plays with the future of lakhs of youth, this act is a crime more serious than murder. By leaking the question paper, a prestigious institution like PSC has been disgraced. The accused in the case are an example of a fence eating the crop.’ Let us tell you that there was large-scale irregularity in CG-PSC 2020. On which former minister Nankiram Kanwar raised questions and filed a PIL in the case. The petition told how relatives of officers and Congress leaders were selected, and posts like Deputy Collector have been given. During the hearing of the case, the court also commented that the selection of relatives in this way together cannot be a coincidence. The High Court also ordered an inquiry into the recruitment.
When there was a change of power in the state, the Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Economic Offenses Wing (ACB-EOW) registered two separate FIRs in this case. Later, the case was handed over to the CBI. The CBI investigation revealed that the question papers were leaked on a large scale at the behest of the then PSC Chairman Taman Singh. It is alleged that the question papers were given to his two nephews Nitesh Sonwani and Sahil Sonwani. After this, Controller of Examinations Lalit Ganvir delivered them to Shravan Goyal, Director of Bajrang Power and Steel, who got these papers for his son Shashank Goyal and daughter-in-law Bhumika Katiyar. On this basis, everyone got posts like Deputy Collector and DSC. In this case, along with the chairman Taman Singh, his nephews Nitesh Sonwani and Sahil Sonwani were arrested. After the arrest, Taman Singh Sonwani and his two nephews had applied for bail in the High Court. During the hearing, his lawyer argued and accused him of being implicated in a false case. The defense also argued that under the rules of the PSC, nephew does not come under the definition of family. Therefore, it is wrong to say that Chairman Taman Singh Sonwani got his family members selected. It is known that in this case, Chairman Taman Singh Sonwani, nephew Nitesh Sonwani, Sahil Sonwani, Deputy Controller of Examination Lalit Ganvir along with industrialist Shravan Kumar Goyal, his son Shashank Goyal and daughter-in-law Bhumika Katiyar have been arrested.
