Campaign to put radium strips on animals to prevent road accidents continues

Balodabazar. On the instructions of Collector Deepak Soni, the Animal Husbandry Department is running a campaign to install radium belts and radium strips to prevent accidents caused by stray animals sitting on all national and state highways passing through the district. In the last two days, the department has installed radium strips and radium belts in 458 animals.
Under the campaign to prevent road accidents, the department has provided radium belts and radium strips to all the field staff. Instructions have been given to provide daily reporting to the district office along with photographs of applying radium strips to the animals. Animals sitting on the road are not visible properly at night, due to which not only the animals but also the drivers become victims of accidents. In the last two days, the department has installed radium strips and radium belts in about 458 animals.
Deputy Director Veterinary Services Dr. Narendra Singh has appealed to the voluntary organizations, urban bodies, people at the district and village level to cooperate in this work and to all the cattle keepers not to leave their animals on the roads.
