Cake cutter arrested with illegal pistol in Delhi
New Delhi (IANS)| In a video that has gone viral on social media, a 21-year-old man has been arrested from Neb Sarai area of Delhi for cutting a cake with an illegal pistol. In the video, a man is seen blowing the candle and later cutting the cake with a pistol. Crackers were also burst in the area.
The accused has been identified as Aniket alias Anish, a resident of Sangam Vihar.
As per the police records, Aniket has also been found involved in a case registered earlier at Malviya Nagar police station.
Delhi Police tweeted, Taking cognizance of a video viral on social media in which a youth was cutting a cake with a pistol, Delhi Police identified the accused and arrested him from Neb Sarai with Point 315 bore country made pistol and 2 live rounds. Arrested.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Chowdhary, information was received on Thursday regarding a video on social media in which a criminal is roaming in Sangam Vihar area with illegal weapons.
The place of the accused was located at Sangam Vihar, Neb Sarai and he was later apprehended, the DCP said. A country-made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession.
The DCP said, the accused confessed to shooting the videos to gain popularity on social media and to establish his identity among other criminals and to lure young boys.
