BSE PSU index jumps 5% in 6 sessions

Business: The S&P BSE PSU index has gained significantly in recent trade after a period of stagnation since mid-July. In the last six sessions, the index has risen nearly 5%, mainly led by gains in metals and stocks.

NALCO registered an impressive gain of 16.70% during this period. It was followed by NMDC, up 13.2%, and SAIL and Power Grid Corporation, up 14% and 8.5%, respectively. GIL and Bharat Heavy Electric also contributed to the index’s recovery, rising 13 percent each.
