Broken drain near the square, a serious accident can happen anytime
Arjuni. During the construction of the main road from Bhatapara to Balodabazar under ADB, drains were built on both sides of the road in Arjuni village. Due to lack of quality in the construction of drains on both sides of the road, the drains are now getting completely damaged. The drain built on the roadside near Arjuni Tonatar Tigadda Chowk has broken. It has been many months since the drain in the middle of the road going towards Tonatar near Arjuni Tonatar Chowk has been broken.
The negligence of the concerned department can cause a major accident for the passersby. Passersby from many villages keep coming and going from Arjuni to Tonatar Chowk. If eyewitnesses are to be believed, recently an ambulance of a private hospital got badly stuck in this pit, which was pulled out with the help of local people after a lot of struggle. This type of incident is not a new thing. Many passersby have also been injured by falling into the broken drain for a long time. Despite that, the concerned department is sleeping in Kumbhakaran-like sleep. Many transporting trucks and vehicles of illegal sand mafia keep moving on this route. There is a need to control them, if this situation remains the same. Then the entire road will become dilapidated. The common people will have to bear the brunt of it.
Former district member Chandraprakash Sahu, Tonatar Sarpanch Vishnu Kosle, Deputy Sarpanch Pinku Kuleshwar Verma, former Deputy Sarpanch Gendram Verma, Meghu Rajak, Chintamani Jaiswal said that the roof of the drain has broken in the middle of the road near Arjuni Tonatar Chowk and the rods are also visible. It has been many months since the drain was broken. Still the concerned department is not paying any attention to the repair of the broken drain. Villagers and public representatives have demanded to repair the broken drain soon.
