‘Bou Divas’ to be celebrated on January 2: ‘Mo Bou Mo Gaanti’ to be screened
Bhubaneswar: Bou is a respectful pronunciation. This is the most beautiful word in the world. Life begins with these two letters. To remember the unique affection of bou (mother), ‘Bou Divas’ is to be celebrated by the Bou Foundation in Odisha.
To preserve the unique identity of the Odia word ‘Bou’, the Day is celebrated on January 2 every year.
This year, the 10th Bou Divas is being celebrated, and the documentary film ‘Mo Bou Mo Gaonti’, which had got a place in the 55th International Film Festival of India Panorama, will be screened.
This film will remind us of our past and the memories of our village, said prominent Odia film producer and director Sabyasachi Mohapatra at today’s Bou Foundation press conference.
Veteran actor Prashant Nanda and politician Soumya Ranjan Patnaik will be honoured with ‘Bou Manisha’ award on January 2.
On this occasion, documentary film ‘Mo Bou Mo Gaonti’ will be screened.
Apart from Sabyasachi Mohapatra, former director of SRFTI, Kolkata and film director Himansu Khatua, director of ‘Mo Bou Mo Gaon’ Subash Sahu and other dignitaries were present at the press conference today.
