Body of missing woman found in pond of Badamandaruni village in Odisha

Balasore: The body of a missing 55-year-old woman was found floating under mysterious circumstances in a pond at Badamandaruni village under Kamarda police limits on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Jania Mirdha.

Jania lived with her parents in the village, but was missing since Friday. Concerned family members started a search but could not find him. Later he informed the police about the incident. After which the police started a search operation and shared his photographs with various police stations across the district.

On Sunday morning, when the villagers went to the pond to collect water for household work, they saw a dead body floating in the pond and immediately informed the police. Kamrada police reached the spot with the help of local people, recovered the body and identified the missing woman.
“A case of unnatural death has been registered, the body has been seized and sent for autopsy to find out the exact cause of death,” IIC Premoda Nayak said. Preliminary investigation suggests that the accident may have occurred when Jania went to the pond to take a bath and accidentally slipped into the deep water. Nayak said that the cause of death will be known after the postmortem report comes.
Local people allege that someone might have murdered him and thrown his body in the pond. He demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.
