Bill not paid, member camped in Panchayat office, health deteriorated

Vijayanagar: In Vijayanagar district of Karnataka, a member of the village committee found a unique way to protest. Angry over non-payment of labor bill, Chandrappa slept in the Panchayat office itself.

The matter is of Ujjini Gram Samiti located in Kottur taluka of Vijayanagar district. It is being told that Panchayat Development Officer Jayamma did not pay the labor bill. Regarding this, member Chandrappa protested and camped in the Panchayat office against the Panchayat Development Officer. Due to this protest, Chandrappa’s health was affected badly. He got fever. It is alleged that despite this, the Panchayat Development Officer did not take care of the health of Chandrappa sitting on the protest.

Some former members definitely reached and talked to Chandrappa who fell ill and inquired about his condition. According to the information, the condition of the member is deteriorating due to fever. He does not even have money to go to the hospital. No response has come from the administration and the District Panchayat Officer regarding the protest yet. But, this matter remains a topic of discussion in Vijayanagara district.

Let us tell you, recently BJP MLAs also did something similar in protest against the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam in Karnataka. They spent the whole night in the assembly.

Pictures of opposition MLAs and MLCs went viral on social media in which some MLAs were seen carrying pillows and blankets inside the assembly. BJP MLAs and MLCs slept on sheets spread on the floor in the assembly the whole night.
